It operates by using up to 50 "seed" articles on its free tier to generate interactive network maps of related papers and authors from a database of over 310 million articles. This mechanism helps solve the problem of siloed keyword searches by revealing the broader scholarly conversation around a topic. For workflow continuity, the system offers direct integration with the Zotero reference manager and allows users to create and share collections for collaborative projects. The platform is built for academic researchers, graduate students, and university librarians conducting literature reviews. A PhD student can input foundational papers to map a field, identify seminal authors, and uncover adjacent research streams.
