Slack AI

Slack is a communication application that integrates AI capabilities into its core functions. The system is structured around Channels for team communication, Slack Connect for external collaboration, and Huddles for audio/video meetings. Its AI features provide automated summaries of conversations, threads, and documents directly within the user interface. The platform supports integrations with over 2,600 applications and includes a no-code Workflow Builder that can generate automations from natural language prompts. For enterprise administration, Slack offers SAML-based single sign-on and SCIM user provisioning. The AI-enhanced search function queries information across connected applications and internal data sources. The tool is utilized by cross-functional business teams, including engineering, sales, and project management. A common use case involves a team member using AI-generated channel summaries to understand a project's status after being offline. Another workflow involves a support agent using the enterprise search to locate technical information within past conversations or integrated knowledge bases. A manager can also use the AI workflow generator to create an automated process, such as routing new support tickets from an external service into a designated channel for triage.
